HR rolls out new compensation program for staff
Effective Nov. 1, 2016, the HR compensation team introduced an enhanced compensation program for staff employees with the goal of increasing transparency and consistency. Central to the program is a market-driven approach to evaluating jobs, which considers the alignment of DePaul's jobs in the education sector and the Chicagoland area.
Many aspects of staff compensation have been improved. A comprehensive job family framework groups similar jobs together and promotes career progression. Expanded salary ranges are competitive with the market and increase earning potential. Aligned job titles mean improved consistency. Written administrative guidelines support and facilitate better compensation practices at DePaul.
Over the past several months, members of the compensation team trained more than 400 managers on those guidelines. HR also sent all staff employees personalized statements which detailed the impact the new program has on them.
