As warmer weather makes its way to Chicago, Newsline bids the DePaul community farewell for the summer season. But before we go, we'd like to share some highlights from two of the university's major spring events - commencement and the annual faculty and staff picnic.

DePaul University held its 119th commencement ceremonies on June 9 and 10 at Wintrust Arena. More than 6,700 students graduated from 10 colleges at five ceremonies this season. Among them were a Marine veteran with a heart for mental health, an esports enthusiast with a vision for community service and a game designer who uses video games to boost empathy for those suffering from chronic disease. Take a look a look at some of the stories from the class of 2018 here.

Speakers for DePaul's University's 119th commencement ceremonies were leaders in their respective fields and included community organizer Rami Nashashibi; broadcast journalist Carol Marin; and legal social justice advocate Edward Grossman. Read more about the speakers in Newsline.
